Since Stephanie and I completed our filming over the weekend, we began editing our raw footage. I came school early so I could dump the footage onto a school computer. Since we transferred our footage onto our Google Drive accounts, all I had to do was download the footage from my account which made this process go much quicker. We began editing in our AICE Media class later that day. We started by watching the clips and deciding which ones we wanted to use. We noticed that the scene of Stephanie putting on lipstick was blurry. We agreed that Stephanie would need to redo the scene at home and record it on her phone.
Before editing our clips, I thought it would be a good idea to add in the music for this. Inserting the audio would help us figure out where to cut each scene so that it matches the story board. I went to YouTube and copied the link to the music video for the song “Secret”. I looked up a mp3 converter and the site extracted the video’s audio. I downloaded the sound then imported it onto Pinnacle Studios. We cut the music to the desired length then began editing the footage. We didn’t do much besides cut the clips. We also didn’t get to finish editing but we have next class period to do so.
During our story boarding process, I wanted to include a scene where Stephanie got a text message from me saying “I’ll see you soon.” We didn’t end up actually filming that scene. However, during editing, I realized that the scene wasn’t necessary because the viewers can still understand what’s going on without it. During filming, we also wanted to include a scene showing Stephanie dragging my lifeless body. We didn’t film this scene either. This was also another scene that was not needed because the viewers can use context clues and realize that Stephanie has killed me without the scene. Stephanie and I are very satisfied with how our music video is developing.
